CIMA MOU partnerships. With Accounting bodies

If you are a CIMA student or a member of any other accounting body and thinking of knowing the list of MOUs offered by them? Careers in Management Accounting (CIMA) has signed MoU with some of the reputed organizations to provide students with internship, project, and job opportunities.

Here is the list of CIMA MOUs

CIMA AND CPA AUSTRALIA:

CPA Australia and CIMA entered a Member Pathway Agreement (MPA) on Jan 01, 2017.

CIMA UK and CPA Australia entered into a mutual recognition agreement to provide the following:

• Recognition of their respective members’ prior qualifications
• Membership services to each other’s members in their ‘home’ locations.

According to this agreement, CIMA Member can apply for CPA Australia on fulfilment of the following conditions:

• Completed the CIMA professional qualification and CIMA practical experience requirements
• You are not part of any other mutual recognition agreement, any other similar pathway agreements, or any unique member pathway

To fulfil the above conditions, required documents must be submitted with membership fees. CPA Australia takes 10-15 days to verify the submitted documents. On successful verification, you become an Associate Member of CPA Australia.

To obtain Fellow Membership, you must complete Better Practice in Governance and Accountability (online). After completion, you are rewarded with a CPA/FCPA certificate and may use the individual letters after your name.

From taking the CPA to CIMA path, you must register as a student, complete the CIMA Strategic Case Study exam and pay fees associated with it to obtain CIMA Membership and CGMA designation.

MOU BETWEEN CIMA AND ICAI

On Jan 31 2015, CIMA and the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICAI) signed the MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) intending to allow CA members to fast-track in qualifying for the globally recognised and prestigious Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) title. It supports and recognises the most talented and committed management accountants with the knowledge, skills, and discipline to drive strong business performance on a global platform.

As per the MoU, ICAI members are eligible for exemptions in 16 out of 17 papers of CIMA qualification — Certificate in Business Accounting (5 exemptions) and the Professional Qualification (11 exemptions).

Hence, only the exam paper, i.e. The Strategic Case Study Exam, has to be given to complete the CIMA professional qualification.

Once the examination is cleared, you need to showcase three years of relevant experience to get the CIMA membership and the globally acclaimed and prestigious CGMA (Chartered Global Management Accountant) designation.

Similarly, CIMA members can pursue ICAI membership. They get an exemption from Foundation papers and ten papers from Intermediate and Final courses. Hence, only 6 papers need to be cleared for ICAI. CIMA members are exempted from 100 hours of compulsory computer and communication, and soft skills training at the intermediate course and from undergoing the ‘Industry Oriented Training program’ at the final course.

CIMA AND CHRIST UNIVERSITY, INDIA

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) signed an MoU with Christ University for a new remote, digital self-paced learning program, The CGMA ® Finance Leadership Program.

CIMA AND ASIA E UNIVERSITY (AEU), MALAYSIA

On Jan 01 2021, The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Asia e University (AeU), Malaysia, for a new remote, digital self-paced learning programme, namely The CGMA ® Finance Leadership Program (FLP), specifically for business, accounting and finance students.

KIU, Sri Lanka and CIMA:

MoU between KIU, Sri Lanka, and CIMA UK was signed to offer exemptions to the students of the Faculty of Management.
